Our History
On 3rd January 1984, our then founding partner, Mr Stephen Chung Hian Guan established his sole-proprietor practice under “Messrs Stephen Chung Advocate”.
On 1st January 1993, Mr Stephen formed a partnership with Mr Robert Lau Hui Yew and Ms Wong Woan Sii to establish our present firm “Messrs Stephen Robert & Wong Advocates”. Datuk Stephen was subsequently appointed as the Judicial Commissioner of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak in October 2009. He was elevated as the High Court Judge of Sabah and Sarawak in year 2012 and as the Court of Appeal Judge in April 2018. YB Robert Lau was appointed Senator for the period of 22.06.2020 to 21.06.2023 and he was reappointed for the second term from 05.05.2024 to 04.05.2027.
Currently, we have four offices throughout Sarawak. Our Principal Office is in Sibu whilst our Branch Offices are in Kuching, Bintulu, and Miri. Mr Tonny Hii Yii Yik is the current managing partner for the whole group who is currently based in our Principal Office.
